Bucket Bath

You won't find many bathtubs here in India. Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a bathtub here. There is usually a showerhead in each bathroom, but no shower stall. Most people take "bucket baths." To take a bucket bath, you fill a bucket with warm water, pour water over yourself with a large plastic "mug," soap up, then rinse off by pouring more water over yourself.

Rebekah had her first "bucket bath" the other day, but it wasn't a conventional bucket bath! She's getting big enough that she likes sitting in her little baby tub and playing with her toys. She doesn't have quite enough balance for that yet though, so she slips and slides all over. Nathan had the idea to let her take her bath in a bucket.... it's large enough for her to sit in, but small enough that she doesn't slide around. She loved it! She played in that bucket until the water started getting cold! Someday Rebekah will have to learn to take a "real" bucket bath, but for now this suits her just fine.

Stay tuned...a video of the bucket bath will be coming soon!
