14 Months Old and Soooo Big

14 Months Old! 20 pounds and 2 1/2 feet tall....Rebekah really is growing up way too fast. It is fun, though, to watch her and see all of the new things she learns and accomplishes.

She is learning to put away her toys. Sometimes she will even put things away without being asked. Do you see the two cane footstools in the picture behind Rebekah? She has always taken great pleasure in throwing the cushions off the footstools. As you can see, they are thrown on the floor in this picture too! Now, though, she will often go hunting for them and put them back where they go.

Rebekah loves music. She really enjoys playing her little keyboard, and will start dancing around the room whenever she hears music playing. She also caught on to "Ring Around the Roses" a few weeks ago. She laughs and laughs when we "all fall down!" I'll try to get a video of that soon.

I don't think anyone will ever be able to accuse Rebekah of not knowing her own mind. She knows what she wants, and she knows how to let us know what she wants. In this picture, Rebekah has pulled her high chair away from the wall in an attempt to pull it up to the table. Since she didn't have quite enough strength for that, she brought her bib over to me and then ran back to the table to pull my chair out for me. =) "Come on, Mom, let's eat!!"

Rebekah has always enjoyed being in the kitchen with me, but she is loving it even more nowadays. She'll sit up on the stool and "help" me with whatever I am doing. In the picture below, I caught her sneaking some chocolate chips that we were using to make chocolate chip banana muffins. See the guilty look on her face?!
Rebekah still uses her sign language to communicate with us, but she is beginning to talk more and more now too. She often repeats words we say, and usually tries to say the correct word for things in addition to making the sign (such as saying "eat" while making the sign for "eat").
