Around Easter when we were spending some time with my parents, Rebekah began a practice that she has continued since then. It is a practice that is a reminder to me of what I need to constantly be doing as well!

Talking to God
Over the past few months, Rebekah has been learning to pray. It started out around the time she turned 2 with "Thank you God" at mealtimes. Over the past couple of months, her mealtime prayer has generally been, "Thank you Jesus for ALL of the food, and thank you Jesus. Amen." Lately, however, her prayers have begun to grow in depth, and she will often pray for specific needs - although she always prays in "thanksgiving" form, such as "Thank you Jesus for Uncle Dean to feel better."

One warm, sunny April afternoon Rebekah and her cousin Kylie were outside blowing bubbles with their Aunt Steph. Out of the blue, Rebekah said very sincerely, "Thank you, God, for this beautiful day!" It was a precious moment, and I was glad to see that she was realizing that talking to God need not be limited to mealtimes and bedtimes. May those tiny seeds of faith continue to grow and blossom!
