Well, we've had quite the time of it the past couple of weeks. It started two weeks ago when Rebekah came down with a cold and fever. That quickly turned into croup which she shared with Daniel a few days later. By this past Wednesday when I wrote the latest post, Rebekah still had a fever off and on, and Daniel was feeling pretty miserable. By Thursday, Daniel seemed worse, so we decided to go ahead and take him to the doctor. It's a good thing we did, because it turned out that his croup had developed into pneumonia. That was obviously a little scary to hear!
We had the doctor check Rebekah too, just to be sure she was ok, and he said that as long as she didn't have a constant high fever and seemed to be getting better and not worse, she'd be ok. Friday morning her fever was as low as it had been in nearly two weeks, but that afternoon for some reason it shot up to 103.7! Saturday morning, however, she had no fever at all, and has been fine ever since. Go figure. Hopefully she will stay that way for awhile!
Anyway, the doctor put Daniel on an antibiotic for the pneumonia. We were up most of the night with him Thursday, but by Saturday he was beginning to seem more like his normal bubbly self. His breathing is still somewhat labored, and he still has a cough, but he's doing much better. Even his fever is almost gone.
Believe it or not, there has been a lot more going on for us over the past two weeks than the kids being sick. To read about some of our other recent adventures, check our main blog.
Daniel and I stayed home from church today (partly to give him a little extra time to recover, and partly to protect the other kids from catching what Daniel had), but Rebekah was thrilled to finally be able to go to church with Grandma and Grandpa and see her cousin Kylie. =)
Nathan had to go to his first church meeting alone today. We thought it would be a little much to try to take the kids on a trip like that when they are still recovering from 2 weeks of sickness.
As for me, I am tired, but thankful! I'm thankful that Rebekah and Daniel are finally getting well, I'm thankful that Nathan and I managed to stay well, and I'm thankful that I might finally get a full night of sleep now that the kids are no longer waking up coughing! For those of you who were praying for them (and for all of us), THANK YOU!

So glad to hear that the kids are almost better and that you guys avoided getting sick during this exhausting time. It's so sad when little kids are sick especially when they're not talking and can't explain anything.
