Daniel at 2 1/2

Our little man has grown up in many ways over the past six months. Much has happened in his little life during that time! He left India at only 5 months old, so the U.S. was all he remembered. Coming back to India was an adjustment for him, especially health-wise. Overall though, he has adjusted well, and has made many new friends over the past several months. He still getting used to Indian food though. =)

With Rebekah starting school, Daniel has been absorbing a lot. I haven't done much "formal" teaching with Daniel at all, but he knows his alphabet very well, and can count at least to 12. He loves to be involved in anything Rebekah is doing, and will often sit at the table coloring and listening while we have our school time.

Daniel also loves music, and is very attuned to sounds in general. Many times throughout the day we will hear singing coming from whatever corner of the house Daniel is in. He picks up new songs very quickly and loves to sing them. Usually he is the first one to notice and point out unusual sounds (like a far away fire truck, etc). If there is a loud noise, Daniel will be the first one to cover his ears. We're thinking that he may be our auditory learner!

Daniel adores his sisters. He really looks up to Rebekah, and often tries to imitate what does - even though she often gets mad at him for it! He is always concerned about Hannah and tries to take good care of her. He's going to be a great big brother.

Daniel still loves vehicles of any sort, but airplanes are the current favorite given our recent air travels. He was very excited to fly on a "real" airplane!

We love our little man! He is the family clown, and has an infectious laugh when he really gets tickled. He is also the family dare devil. I'm actually rather surprised that we haven't had to deal with any broken bones yet, but I'm pretty sure that will come eventually. It's hard to believe that he is halfway to 3. Three sounds so much older than two. He's getting to be quite the big boy, and we are so thankful to have him as a part of our family.
