Hannah has been a busy girl the past couple of months! I never got around to posting at 8 months (she was 8 months old on April 23rd), but I'm going to do it now because my monthly "baby updates" are one of the main ways I keep track of her milestones. (Yes, I will eventually get her baby book updated!) Hannah learned a lot of new things in one short month. It was almost like she hit a developmental growth spurt and became a whole different girl somewhere between 7 months and 8 months. At the beginning of the month, she was mostly just scooting around, although she would take a couple of crawling "steps" occasionally. At the end of the month, however, she was not only crawling everywhere, but she was also pulling herself up on furniture and anything else she could get her hands on.

Hannah also started waving, clapping, clucking her tongue, giving kisses, and initiating peek-a-boo. Her siblings (and ok, yes, her parents, grandparents, friends at church, etc.) have had fun playing with her and getting her to "perform." In the video below, you can see her giving Daddy a kiss and playing peek-a-boo with him (after the tickling session!).
Hannah really looks up to her big brother and tends to want whatever he has. If Daniel has it, it must be fun, right?! That obviously causes a bit of contention between the two at times, but for the most part they adore each other. Hannah adores Rebekah too, but at this point I think she sees her more as a second mother than as a playmate. And yes, Hannah's developmental growth-spurt seemed to be in the language department as well. She really started babbling a lot more during her 8th month. For several days she said "ga-ga" almost constantly (which was a bit of a surprise to me as both of her siblings started with "da-da"). Before long though, that developed into "Be-ga". Every time she would look right at Rebekah and say, "Be-ga!" No doubt she's heard her sister's name called enough times that she decided it was time for her to join in. =) She also said "ma-ma, da-da," and made a few other sounds that we haven't quite figured out yet. She sure seems to know what she's talking about though! Life with a growing little one sure is lots of fun, especially when they are sweet and smiley as our little one is! We are greatly enjoying watching our sweet Hannah learn and grow, and we are so thankful that she is a part of our family.
