End of Kindergarten!

This is how excited Rebekah is to be finishing K5 and starting 1st grade!
That's right, today is Rebekah's last day of K5! We started last February, so we have been at it almost exactly a year.
March 2011
The Indian and American school schedules are very different from one another, so for now we are are making our own schedule. We took several breaks of a few weeks (sometimes months) each for Christmases, a trip to the States, moving into our new home, and a trip to Sri Lanka.

Rebekah has done well and was impressed when we showed her some of her work from the beginning of K5 and how much she has learned since then. She is especially proud of the progress she has made in reading.
Reading a story to Hannah
What you'd find in our house most mornings
Handwriting - Rebekah's least favorite part of school!
"School" for us is all of life in many ways, and Rebekah has enjoyed learning many more things than "just" reading, writing, and math.
Having a baby sister has given Rebekah lots of opportunities to learn how to help take care of a baby.
Rebekah loves helping with the baking and cooking!
A trip to the zoo last Spring
"Aunty Marie" taught Rebekah how to embroider. She really took to it for awhile!
Rebekah loves plants and flowers, and has very much enjoyed having our own yard so she can plant some things of her own (maybe the attempts would be more successful if Mommy's thumb was a bit greener)!
And Rebekah's absolute favorite thing - art of almost any kind, but especially painting and drawing
Congratulations on completing K5, Rebekah! We love you and are very proud of you!

Here is a video of Rebekah's last day of K5 - as per her request. =)
