Fire Engine!

We've been wanting to get bunk beds for awhile now. All three kids share a room, and since Hannah outgrew her pack-n-play she's been sleeping on a mat on the floor. That was ok for awhile, but we knew that wouldn't last forever.

We'd been keeping an eye on OLX.com, an Indian website similar to Craig's List. Most things we'd found either didn't look very sturdy or were quite costly. Then last week Nathan checked and found this:

It was a fraction of the price of other sturdy-looking beds we'd seen (though we hadn't seen any other fire trucks!), so we went to check it out and then snatched it up. There were LOTS of cartoon stickers plastered all over it, but Rebekah and I spent the afternoon peeling and scrubbing them off, and now it looks as good as new.

We didn't get any photos of the process of putting it together, but it was quite amusing to watch the kids try to figure out what it was. It didn't take long for them to know that it was a fire engine, but Nathan had it fully assembled before they realized it was also a bunk bed! We had three very excited children. They've already spent hours putting out fires around the house. I've lost count of how many kitchen fires I've had since this fire engine entered our house!

The pictures show how excited they were...

And check out the missing top tooth!
There is even a steering wheel on the bottom bunk
First things first - she had to learn to climb up and down the ladder :)
Three happy kiddos with their new bed!

That is adorable! Are there actually three beds? Two stackable and one coming out from the bottom bed?

So much fun!
