From the mouths of....

This post was written in October 2012 but was never posted. These are just a few examples of why I have such a hard time keeping a straight face when my kids talk to me!

How you get the flu according to Rebekah: "When someone dusts in your room before you wake up, then you might get the flu."

Daniel: "Mommy can you clause the movie?"

Hannah was sitting in her usual spot on the kitchen counter watching me work. There happened to be an open bag of chips near her, so she pulled out two huge handfuls. I took a chip from her hand and ate it. She gave me a look of shock and horror, and then said with all the authority and seriousness her 2-year-old self could muster, "Never NEVER take mine chips, Mommy! Never NEVER take mine chips!"

Hannah-isms

Hannah is such a funny little girl. She talks a LOT these days, and we often get some good laughs out of the things she says. A few things that we've heard from her recently:

Grandad told Hannah, "You are getting so big!" Hannah replied, "Yes, and if I read my Bible and pray every day, then I will grow, grow grow!"

While pointing, Hannah correctly stated, "This is east, and this is west." Then she continued, "In Easter it is hot. In Wester it is warm."

We were eating lunch and Hannah looked at me and asked, "Mommy, what is in your eyes?" I said, "Pupils." She looked a bit taken aback, and quickly asked, "What people?!"

Every Bird...

Hannah has certainly found her voice these days. Friends often comment, "She's talking SO much now!" It's true! Talking, singing, making animals noises with Daniel... the other talkers in this house have met their match.

The other day she started singing the song "Rolled Away," which starts:
Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away,
every burden of my heart rolled away....

There are motions to the song, and when you say "every burden" you put your hands over one shoulder as if you are carrying a burden.

Thus Hannah's version of the song:
Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away,
every bird on my back rolled away!
As one friend said recently, "You can't make this stuff up!"
