Our 9 Month Old

Rebekah has been busy this past month! She is into everything, and eats everything in sight -- from crumbs to dust bunnies. She loves to practice walking as long as she is holding someone's hands. She will stand on her own for a few seconds at a time, but doesn't quite have enough balance yet to walk without assistance. I read that babies this age are more "at risk" than newborns, simply because they can do so much more, but don't know their limits. We are finding that to be true! Rebekah is a thrill-seeker like her father, but she is accident-prone like her mother. Not a good combination!

Three new teeth sprouted this past month, bringing the count up to five. There are two or three more that are just about to come through though, and she is experimenting with what she can do with those new things in her mouth!

Rebekah's favorite word is "Da-da," but she does say "hi" and "ma-ma" when it suits her, and sometimes "uh-oh". She will also growl like a bear when she sees a picture of one.

She claps her hands, hides behind something and pops out to start a game of peek-a-boo, gives "high fives," waves bye-bye, gives kisses, gives zerbetts (and is very proud of that newfound ability!), and is overall a very happy, giggly little girl.

It is hard to believe that Rebekah has been with us so short a time, and yet such a long time. She is such a joy to us, and we feel so very blessed to have her as a part of our family.

Just hanging out
