Rebekah has really been working hard at growing up this past month. She is our self-proclaimed court jester, and does whatever she can to make us laugh. Then once we are laughing, she will join in, whether she knows what she is laughing at or not!During the first half of the month, one of her favorite things to do was pull a chair out from the dining room table and push it around the room.

She is also obsessed with books (which is fine with us!). There is usually a stack of books here in the corner, and she will go over, pull every book out, and then open each book and set it aside before selecting one book to look at or deciding to go on to something else.

In this picture she was being coy with her Daddy. Sometimes when we are eating, she will lay her head down on her high chair and look up at Nathan with this adorable little look that we have never been able to capture on camera.

I'm not sure what this was all about. Rebekah was taking her afternoon nap one day, and I went in to check on her and found her like this. Her "security sheet"?! She hasn't done it since, though, so who knows what she was doing.
She is quite the mischevious little thing. She knows very well what she should and shouldn't be doing. In the following two pictures, she is testing her limits in regard to our back "porch." The floor is always full of dirt and bugs (no matter how much I clean it), so I don't allow her out there. Our washing machine and clothes line is out there, however, and she always wants to follow me when I am out taking care of the laundry. One day she put her hand out, even though she knew she would get in trouble. After receiving a swat on the hand, she sat back to reassess the situation. A few moments later, I turned around to see Rebekah tentatively put her foot outside. I guess she thought she might be able to get away with that. She didn't, and hasn't tried it again since! These two pictures are of Rebekah sitting by her favorite door in the house, trying to look sweet and innocent! Sweet, she is, but innocent?
And finally, here is our big girl walking! As you may have seen in some of our previous posts, Rebekah seemed to be a little scared to walk a few weeks ago. She would walk when she thought we were holding onto her, but drop down onto the floor when she knew she was on her own. Just last week she stood up and walked over to me (Rachel) one morning! She's been practicing a lot ever since and is getting better and better. Now she walks all over the house on her own, even when we are not with her. In the picture below, she had stopped to wave to the camera with both hands before continuing her walk.
Just one more month and we'll have a one-year-old! Yikes, how time does fly!
