Early the morning of October 3rd, the phone rang. Rebekah was thrilled that it was a phone call for her from some of our friends in the States! When she was actually on the phone, she got a little shy and wouldn't talk much, but she was very excited that the phone call was for her (even though Mommy and Daddy ended up doing most of the talking).

Daddy helping Rebekah talking on the phoneWe made waffles for breakfast that morning (one of her favorite breakfast foods) and sang "Happy Birthday" to her with a couple of candles stuck in her waffle. She loves being sung to for her birthday!
We had kept back a few of her birthday gifts from friends and family to spread things out a little, and so she would have something to open on her "real" birthday. She loved all of her new books, stickers, and teddy bear!
