Daniel - 3 months old

In some ways it seems hard to believe that Daniel has been with us for three months already. In other ways it seems that he has always been with us!

Daniel has developed a lot of personality this past month! It has been a lot of fun to watch. He is very happy most of the time. If you talk to him and smile at him, he will talk, smile, and laugh right back at you! Daddy says that he has the cutest smile ever, but I think he might be just a little prejudiced. =)

It IS very difficult to get Daniel to smile for the camera! He is curious about everything, so as soon as we pull the camera out, he starts seriously studying the camera, trying to figure out what this big black thing is that Mom and Dad keep putting in his face!

Although you wouldn't know it from this picture, Daniel has taken a strong dislike to sleeping on his back. He is ok with it at night, but for his naps during the day he will only sleep for 20-30 minutes if I put him on his back. On his stomach, however, he will sleep for 1 1/2 -2 hours! A big enough difference in my mind that I've given in and let him sleep on his stomach for naps.

We've also got another thumb-sucker! I tried hard to get both Rebekah and Daniel to take pacifiers (which can be taken away eventually) instead of sucking their thumbs (which are attached for life, hopefully), but neither cared much for a pacifier. Ah, well.

Daniel found his hands a few weeks ago, and his hands quickly found their way to his mouth. It took him a little while to figure out which fingers should go in though...sometimes he tried stuffing his whole fist inside!

Daniel got passed around to a couple dozen people that day, and he was exhausted (and I think a bit agitated) by the time he was finally passed back to me. He is friendly enough, but he's definitely not the social bug that his sister is!

Hanging out with big sis

Daniel is usually thrilled to have Rebekah around (that is until she gets a little too rough or too loving), and she loves making him smile. When he is sitting in his chair and starts crying, she'll go over and start singing, "lullaby, lullaby!"
A not-so-happy moment

Daniel has become more interested in toys lately, although he still can't do much with them yet.

He can also hold his head up really well when he wants to. In this picture, he was starting to get mad that he couldn't get to his toy!

I love the pics, but especially the one with his thumb in his mouth. He's so big! Jenna will not sleep on her back ever but she won't even be on her back to play either.
